This week, I completed my Weebly Portfolio to present to the class. I took time to consider what I might say about the pieces. I also spent time on the senior trip editing photos I took. The few around the lake I think could be a series and I really love them, especially the one of the binoculars. I edited the photos using VSCO adjustments and filters also.

This week I really had to focus on finishing my art show exhibit. I did the tape line at least 3 times. I had to repin all of my work once my new pins came in the mail. I had to cut out the inside of my spiral with an blade and I had to construct the strings across the board which came out great and as I imagined it. I also finished up my artist statement outside of school as well. This exhibit/show was amazing but so sad! I cried writing my statement.
This week, I spent after school trying to get ready for the art show. I cut out my DNA piece around the edges, made my hearts hangable and taped my board. I still need to finish up a few things but I am excited. I got more prints this weekend for the show also, a few of which need to be matted. I pressed some flower petals from mothers day and took photos of them. I also looked up art exhibits just for inspiration and found some pretty powerful examples.
This week I planned for the art show at BP and had to gather all of my pieces, making sure I had them all. I do have to get some printed which I will be doing this week because I have to go downtown anyways. For some reason, because I have more time and I'm not stressing about conversation work, I feel like my Pinterest has been giving me so many awesome ideas and examples (I just realized we will get them printed in class). I really hope that we are doing a final project so I can branch out from my previous work and so something I feel is Pinterest worthy and I am proud of. Also, I've tried uploading the photos for this sketchbook since 2nd period and for some reason they just will not show up on my computer. If you can't see them either I will email them to you but I could see them on my moms so I'm not sure what's wrong with just mine.
This week I tried to make another concentration piece out of an idea I have wanted to try for awhile (drawing over photographs) and it didn't work out too well. The photos where too dark in my opinion and I just didn't love the way they came out in the end so I won't end up using them. I also Pintrested a lot and it made me sad because of course I found so many cool ideas for my concentration but I won't be doing any of them any time soon. I drew over a photograph the lake for observation.
This week I prepared to do another concentration work and took a bunch of long exposure photos. I want to draw over one or two of the photographs words like I planned to before and I plan on doing it on warnings that women hear often. I haven't chosen specifically what photos just yet.
For observation I drew the scene in front of me at my desk, pretty boring. I went to Raleigh, North Carolina, Hilton Head, South Carolina, and Savannah, Georgia. I took way too many photos. I really liked the ones of the yellow stairs in the hunt library at NC State. NC State also had set up a political art piece that was about gun control in memorial to all of those lost recently to gun violence. They also had a free expression tunnel created to combat graffiti on campus during the Vietnam war. There's one photo of the end of the tunnel in there. I also just took photos of art all throughout SCAD's campus.
I have been gathering photos with mirrors for the past few days because I think that's what the focus of my next project is going to consist of. I've been wanting to do something like this for pretty much the whole year I just need a better understanding of exactly what and I need to buy a mirror that I can break. I also did my reflection packet for my last project. For observation I did a little mashup of 2 different observations from pictures on pinterest and one just rough one of my hand.
This week I went to two concerts actually and took and edited some really cool photos I thought. I think my favorite out of the concert photos would be the last two uploaded. I didn't edit the colors just the brightness, darkness, and clarity. The first two photos I uploaded are a little different. The first is a photo I forgot to upload from over break and wanted to include because I thought it was so cool. It's from a few different colored lights and that's a shadow from all of the lights places in a different place. I have a few more of these but that one was the most successful, I think. The blue is actually just an overexposed picture of an Easter egg dye pod dissolving in a mug. I really liked it overexposed, it kinda looked like a cyanotype. For observation I just drew over a photo of Marin.
This week over break I finished my poster for the March For Our lives, the hearts in it I drew from a photograph. On top of that I took many photos at the march which I edited and I planned on making another breadth piece with. I will come back to them after I finish this concentration piece because I think I need to direct my focus back to them and the one I left. I loved a lot of the photos I took, I'm thinking I might draw over somebodies face like I posted on a previous sketchbook.
