Many pieces show rebellion against popular anti-feminist notions to demonstrate the true free will of women, and to reveal their strength in being whoever they want without limitations. Piece 1 proves that women are able to be sexual without being objects of sex. Piece 3 is a visual of societal expectations; it focuses on the images within the media that are catalysts of what a woman thinks she should look like, how she should act, and what is expected of her to be a respectable and desirable object for the man. Piece 9 takes the traditional role of women as housewives and insinuates radical resistance against the latter. Similarly, 10 shows defiance against the expectation of modesty and counteracts the act of rating women--pitting them against each other through competition. The final piece uses the pin, a symbol of traditional female culture, to illustrate that the woman’s place is in the background, being constantly unheard and silenced. All of the pieces collectively portray just how outrageous the terms by which society oppress women are. They instill a drive for change and conjure a reevaluation of deeply lodged norms surrounding how we treat, view, and support women in this culture.
