This week, I made some progress with my collage magazine piece. I started layering photographs and using blending layers to make them a lot less visible. I did this with a photo of a girl as well as some text. I think I'm going to be able to finish this piece for the next sustained investigation project so that is my goal.
For observation, I drew from a photograph on adobe draw. It's very rough but it's a window and the Arnot. And obviously, I have a ton of pictures from the museum including my own work hanging up! This was so cool and I had so many people come to support me, I am very grateful. A local artist that was on stage and I believe on the panel that was shaking hands with all of the winners told me that my work was very sensitive. All of the other work that they had up in the museum was so cool to look at, I can't wait to go back.

This week, I finished my art club portrait. I was really bad at taking in progress photos so I only have a few. I did the whole think with Adobe Draw. I didn't end up drawing her headdress I just cropped it onto her face. I also edited on the ipad and drew on another portrait of a kid for art club.
I worked a ton on my child's portrait for art club. It needs to be finished by Thursday so that´ll most likely be the bulk of my sketchbook for next week too. I had started it in studio but realized how much I like drawing with adobe draw on my phone, and soon on the iPad, so I thought it would be a cool challenge. I have been struggling with inspiration for my other collage project which will be due soon. I don´t want to be cliche with it and I think a lot of times, using newspaper clipping in art is. I wanted to do something unique but at the same time portray the same message as a literal piece would. So, I found some really beautiful deconstructed multi media pieces on pinterest that I love and I think I could do something similar but with my clippings and obviously make it my own. I will take these as inspiration and so now I´m getting a lot more excited. I need to start planning out how to encouragement all of my clippings and plan some more.
This week I did even more playing with adobe draw and I really love it. I struggled with ideas and inspiration to draw on photos a lot of it was drawing over for no reason but when I started drawing over the photos to then remove the image layer, that´s when I started having fun. I think I´ll continue the photo of the eye each week and just keep building on it. I really love how you can change the opacity and color so easy to match the skin tones. I kinda wish I got an ipad now. I also messed around with blending modes. The one blending mode I have pictured here is multiply. Soft light with the drawing on top actually just really enhanced my features and I liked that too.
This week I was really inspired by drawing over photographs and drawing using my phone through apps. I played around with a bunch of apps but Ms. Stratton got me on Adobe Draw and that´s what I used to make all of the experiements shown above. I also did some research on Pinterest of ways I could make this into a concentration piece but I don´t think I will end up making a project with my sustained investigation like this. I think it will be a more breadth piece. For observation, I drew my lunch box with Adobe Draw as well.
This week I took photos of my dog for a Christmas card with my new phone in portrait mode which, I found out, works well. I also pinned on pinterest in my concentration: women board. For observational drawing this week, I drew photos of a tree tunnel in California (from a photograph).
