This week I finished up all of my anatomical hearts to go with each of my sculptures for scholastic. I did 4 of them and actually had to do one twice because I messed up the words on the back half. I also had to hot glue and sew each of the strings for all of the hearts. I lost the ¨0 for men¨ heart so I had to recreate it but after the second layer of plaster I realized that it wasn´t going to look like the other one, the pink paint i used was very different and my plastering was kinda bad so I went to look for the heart one more time and I found it. I took photos of the hearts with a camera and my moms light and edited the photos brightness in photoshop.
For observation, I downloaded a drawing app on my phone and did one side of my room with it.

I put the collage project on hold to finish up scholastic and complete a portfolio with my hearts from last year. I decided to hang anatomical hearts from under the original hearts with facts about the topic the first heart introduces. I spent time outside of class gathering facts and statistics to use on the back of the hearts. I also went in during lunch to tissue paper over the anatomical hearts and draw and redraw the lines on the front of them. I used this really super basic cartoon anatomical heart as my reference and just drew mine off of that, so that is my observational drawing for this week. I also ended up making each anatomical heart different than the others. At first the only way I was making them different was through variations in the tissue paper I used, but then I started making them completely different, shading them in various ways while still keeping the original lines as a base.
This week I pinned a bunch of art focused on collage and women to get inspiration for the collage project i am doing next. I am actually really excited for this project. I got a lot of inspiration from a 2004 Rolling Stones that we had in the art room. It had a lot of very culturally innaproprate things in it and it wasn´t from that long ago which was really shocking. I´m interested to see if the magazine still publishes like they used to. I have started gathering a few magazines around my house that I might be able to use but I know I´ll probably have to go buy some.
For my observational drawing I tried to do one of those drawings without lifting your pen off the page and... yeah it did not go as planned. Maybe because I was drawing a bundle of my sheets mostly it came out so odd and it just looks like a bunch of scribbles. |
